Worried about whether fiber will work for your arena? Don't worry! You can add fiber to any type of Florida arena whether it is sand, clay, or just dirt. Our Flex Footing specialist will come out to your arena and explain the process.
Adding fiber to any type of arena will add stability and traction.
Adding fiber to your arena can be done two ways. One is by using a tiller, which we recommend, and the second way is by hand.
The most important part is to make sure that the fiber is evenly spread out and no clumps remain.
First step to having a Flex Footing arena is to use a tiller on your arena. This will break up your arena surface. Next you will add the fiber.
After adding the fiber you will need to groom your arena. You can do this by using our recommended arena groomer. This process will mix up the fiber and sand and helps with the bonding stage.
After adding your fiber and grooming the last step is to water. You can do this by using an already installed irrigation system or by a hose and portable sprinkler.
Regardless of your water system you want to ensure that you get just enough water on the sand and fiber to cause the two to mix.
After a few days you should see a decrease in the amount of watering your arena will need.
After your fiber process is completed you can ride your horse immediately in the arena. You should notice the difference in the footing immediately. Over the next couple days even a week or so your footing will adjust and you and your horse will notice the benefits.
